Biter Biscuit

Aaron tried his first biter biscuit today. He seemed quite fascinated with the mess it made. I quickly remembered why I didn't buy these more frequently for Robin and Alex.

Nighttime at Yongsan-gu (May 7, 2007)

As nighttime falls the streets start buzzing with people shopping, picking up flowers and visiting with friends. Many snack stands open for business as men and women make their way home after a long work day.

Manna ~ Korean Restaurant

It is Sunday once again! So, of course, we ate lunch at our favorite Korean restaurant.
The menu. Kids get bulgogi, Craig and I get Dolsot Bibimbap (stone pot food rice on menu).

Recipes: food, family, and friends...travel and tradition

I spent the late afternoon putting some of my favorite recipes back in their box after having them accumulate, from frequent use, next to my stove. New favorites were also transcribed from their scraps of paper onto new recipe cards. I love my recipe collection. It makes me feel close to family and friends when we are so far away. New additions also remind me of where we have traveled. Hotteok and kimbap are new additions entering the box today.

Kimbap. One of my favorite quick Korean lunches!
Same pic as above but played around with the hue/saturation/lightness.

One benefit of globalization

Mmm, coffee.
Koreans call it StarbucksE. In case you are wondering, it is a grande nonfat vanilla latte. I love coffee.

orange ya glad I didn't say banana?

Knock-knock jokes have been a huge hit lately in this house. So as I sat there this evening trying to figure out what to post as my pic of the day...and what sort of texture I wanted to use knock-knock jokes popped back into my head.

Dolsot Bibmbap

Dolsot Bibmbap "Stone Pot Food Rice" Craig's and my favorite thing to eat at our favorite Korean restaurant!
Bibmbap all mixed up. Bulgogi and bap (rice) for the kids and many different sides! (Kimchi, radish kimchi, leeks, fried fish, and bracken among others).
My family enjoying our traditional Sunday lunch at Manna.
