Korean Childrens Day

May 5th is Children's Day in Korea. Parents dress their kids up and take them out to museums, parks, zoos, etc. for a fun day of activities. We took our kids over to the Korean War Memorial where festivities were all around!

Recipes: food, family, and friends...travel and tradition

I spent the late afternoon putting some of my favorite recipes back in their box after having them accumulate, from frequent use, next to my stove. New favorites were also transcribed from their scraps of paper onto new recipe cards. I love my recipe collection. It makes me feel close to family and friends when we are so far away. New additions also remind me of where we have traveled. Hotteok and kimbap are new additions entering the box today.
