Night Concert at the Korean War Memorial



I glanced out the window tonight and noticed a concert going on at the War Memorial across the street. I upped the shutter speed and held as still as I possibly could (well, as still as one can be leaning out a 12-story window on a windy night!). I thought the lighting up into the sky was so neat -- and I think the pictures turned out okay!

Korean Childrens Day

May 5th is Children's Day in Korea. Parents dress their kids up and take them out to museums, parks, zoos, etc. for a fun day of activities. We took our kids over to the Korean War Memorial where festivities were all around!

War Memorial of Korea

The War Memorial of Korea

Memorial Hall: Inscribed on this memorial is the names of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces Soldiers and Policemen killed in the Armed Forces Activation, Korean War, Vietnam War and Counter Infiltration Operation and the United Nations Forces Soldiers killed in the Korean War.

The Clock of Hope for Peaceful Unification: Someday when unification is realized, this clock will be put on the clock tower, and will indicate the time of unification.



Statue of Brothers: The statue depicts a scene where a family's older brother, a ROK officer, and his younger brother, a North Korean soldier, meet in a battlefield and express reconciliation, love, and forgiveness.
